He was predeceased by: his parents, Geobel Carter and Willie Roena Haren Carter; his former wife Barbara Ann Buford Carter; his wife Cora Lee Carter; and his son Richard "Ricky" Carter.
He is survived by: his son Oliver Carter (Tiffany) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Olivia, Peyton and Kaidance Carter; his sister Katie Krampota of Baytown, TX; his niece Tonya Sacci of Nashville, TN; and his nephews, Daymon Sims of Dallas, TX and Danny Sims of Daytown, TX. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
