With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Velma Gravley Lawson of Morganton, North Carolina, born in Wytheville, Virginia, who passed away on December 18, 2020 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Gravley and Myrtle Jones Gravley; her siblings, Mac Gravley, Fred Gravley of Radford, VA and Isabell Bishop; and her niece Joyce Bishop.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Lawson of Morganton, Stevie Lawson of Morganton and David Lawson (Melissa) of Sawmills; her siblings, Pete Gravley (Faye) of Pulaski, VA, Hazel Manness of Salem, VA and Judy Bowman of Austinville, VA; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Mikeals (Nathan), Larry Lawson (Elizabeth), Tabitha Lawson and Kelly Lawson. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 a memorial service to celebrate the life of Ruby will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
