Samuel McDowell Tate and Jane Pearson Tate (Jennie); his wife Mary; his children, David, Jane Tate (Art) of Morganton, John Tate of Morganton, Susan Tate Henderson (Bobby) of Knoxville, TN and Martha Tate Lyster (Norm) of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren, Eleisha Tate-Hooper, Keely Henderson Doran (Jimmie), Anna Henderson Daniel (Drew), Stuart Lyster and Marley Lyster; and his great grandchildren, James and Lillian Doran.
