It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Dayton Peek (Morganton, North Carolina), born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, who passed away on June 16, 2019, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, McCoy Stamey and Elizabeth Stamey; her husband John Shular Dayton; and her siblings, Lewis Stamey, Lindsey Stamey, Charles Stamey, McArthur Stamey, Lucille Pittman, Dorothy Autry, Ruby Bently, Anis Thompson and Mary Stamey.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Dayton (Jackie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Johnny Dayton (Carol) of Marion, NC and Beth Burleson (David) of Morganton; her sisters, Barbara Ward of Spruce Pine, NC and Faye King of Kernersville, NC; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Julie, Phillips of Morganton, Jillian, Maney of Morganton, Joy Dayton of Fort Mill, SC, Heather, Thorpe of Raleigh, Shannon and Wilkins of Raleigh; and her great grandchildren, Andrew, Josie Phillips of Morganton, Abby, Chaya Dayton of Marion, Greyson Maney of Morganton, Charlotte and Hayden Thorpe of Raleigh.
