She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond S. Yount and Leora Walker Yount; her former husbands, Ray P. Gale and Quinton Buff; and her siblings, Darrell, Carroll Yount and Zelma Gale.
She is survived by: her husband Charles H. Rhodes; her children, Threna Whisnant (Larry) of Morganton and Jory Nelson Gale; her grandchildren, Kenneth B. McNeely, Jr., Keetje Gale and Nicole Gale; and her sisters, Patsy Hovis (Jack) and Jean Frank. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
