He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Dean Dale; and his siblings, Etta Sloan Wood (Tony), Hazel Finger (Zack), Ruth Noles (Paul), Joseph Wilson Dale and Frank McRoy Dale Silas.

He is survived by: his wife Mabel Wooten Dale; his son David Aaron Dale (Quita); and his granddaughter Kelsey Dale Smith.
