She was predeceased by: her parents, James Payne and Pearl Montieth Payne; her former husband Wallace Robinson; her daughter Sharon Robinson Edmondson; her granddaughter Pamela Hollifield; her stepgranddaughter Caitlin Elizabeth Whisnant; her siblings, Dwight Payne and Marlene Payne Hurst; and her friend Joyce Gibson Janofsky of Georgia.
She is survived by: her close friend Nadine Sanders; her husband Joseph Whisnant, Sr.; her daughters, Kathy Robinson of North Carolina, Dawna Davidson of North Carolina, Joni Pritchard of North Carolina and Lisa Vanassche of California; her stepdaughter Regina Whisnant; her stepgranddaughter Sara Maeve Whisnant; her stepsons, Jason and Joseph Whisnant (Jody); her brother Roger Payne; her cousin Eulene Grey (Bob); her close friend Betty Abernathy (Bruce); Sandra, Rene, Salon Edge Salon, Anthony Cates and Mike Smith. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
