He is survived by: his parent Maude Powell; his daughters, Carolyn Johnson (Wayne) of Morganton, Janet Branch (Tony) of Glen Alpine and Robin Powell of Asheville; his daughter-in-law Phyllis Powell; his grandchildren, Donald "Pete" Peach, Jr., Todd Peach, Shanda Johnson, Charles Powell, Danny Powell, Denise Hayes, Starla Hoke and Lamar Fleming; and his stepchildren, Randy Norman, Janee and Audrey. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
