He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hampton and Mary Hampton; his wife Betty Fox Hampton; and his sisters, Charlotte Franklin and Bessie Lee Webb.
He is survived by: his children, Dora Costner (Carl), Debra Parker (Troy), David Hampton (Tina) and Donna McGee; and his brother Charles William "Bill" Hampton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great greatgrandchildren.
