He was predeceased by: his wife Marie T. Buff; his son Gary Woodrow Buff; and his siblings, John Obie Buff and Durline Waters. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Wayne "Bunk" Buff and Gina Marie Perez (Robert) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Whitney Setzer (Hoss), Jody Buff, Zane Buff, Jordan Buff, Taylor Perez (Brittanee), Cage Perez and Travis Buff; his great grandchildren, Makenzie Herron, Easton Herron, Hoss Lane Setzer and Mason Riffe; his sister Shirley McDaniels; and also, William Colt Herron-Buff (Amanda) and Jim.
