It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gurney Curtis Hodges Jr. of Mount Airy, North Carolina, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gurney Curtis Hodges Sr. and Alma Johnson Hodges; his sister Pamela Gilley; his niece Suzanne Gwyn; and his great-nephew Mason Gilley.
He is survived by: his sisters, Debbie Parsons (Donnie) and Pat Rosendahl (Jay Lynn); and his nieces and nephews, Tammy Brown (Steve), Shannon Blizzard Cox, John David Gilley, Nichole Gordon, Haley Hobbs (Jason) and Jessica Harp (Stephen).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
