It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Totherow Sams of Murphy, North Carolina, born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on December 11, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Totherow and Carmel Rich Totherow; her husband David "Leon" Sams; her daughter Crystal Sams; and her brother Elbert "Tiny" Totherow, Jr..

She is survived by: her son Chad Sams (Krista); and her grandchildren, Noah Sams and Kaelin Sams.
