He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hickey and Edna Rector Hickey; his former wife Mary Onyett Hickey; and his siblings, Vivian Hickey Stearns, Faye Hickey Suess and Glen Hickey.
He is survived by: his wife Reba Johnson Hickey; his children, Jena Hickey Alfonso of Tampa, FL, Kevin Hickey (Beverly) of Oakfield, Ontario and Kerwin Hickey (Kristi) of Kirkwood, IL; and his stepchildren, Joy Lescalleet Haglar of Stanley, Tim Lescalleet (Janet) of Murphy and Stephen Lescalleet of Murphy. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Murphy Free Methodist Church, PO Box 1222., Murphy, NC 28906.
