With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Evelyn Bowen Melvin of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2021 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Sweat Bowen and Floyd Bowen; and her brother Floyd Bowen Jr. God. She is survived by: her son Brian; and her siblings, Carol and John. She is also survived by her husband and two children.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, directed to cure leukemia, would be appreciated by the family.
