He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Ham Coffey and Mollie Hyatt Coffey; his brothers, Dee, Zeb, Birder and Austin; and his father-in-law Grady McGaha.
He is survived by: his wife Freda McGaha Coffey; his child Alex Taylor; his grandson Dorian Taylor; his siblings, Fred Coffey and Mary Jane Owenby; his nieces and nephews, Rachel, Loretta, Camille and Larry; his mother-in-law Ruth McGaha; and his brothers, Jimmy (Doris), Michael (Mary) and Gaitha.
