With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Ann Melde of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on June 18, 2021 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hammond and Lavinia Symonett Hammond; and her husband Robert Melde. She is survived by: her children, Erich Melde and Heather Fannin (Robert); her siblings, John, Walter, Robert Hammond, Betty Holmes, Alice Dunn and Joyce Christensen; and her grandchildren, Harlie Fannin, Callie Fannin, Natalie Fannin and Ketron Shook. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
