He was predeceased by : his parents, Hurley Vance Harwood and Naomi Poplin Harwood; and his wife Mary Elizabeth Vanhoy Harwood. He is survived by : his daughters, Lisa Hatley (Chad) of Norwood, Suzanne Shields (Delaine) of New London and Kaylene Harwood (Tracy) of Mt. Gilead; and his stepchildren, Randy Poplin (Teena) of Albemarle, Sandy Hicks (David) of Concord, Wayne Poplin (Tammy) of Albemarle and Tammy Purvis (Jeff) of Hertford, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
