It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry Charles Carpenter (Newland, North Carolina), born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2019, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jackson Albert Carpenter and Wanda Woods Carpenter. He is survived by : his wife Amy Clark Carpenter of Newland, NC; his daughters, Heather Ragan (Toby) of Pineola, NC and Hilary Carpenter (Jason Shaw) of Cary, NC; his grandchildren, Trevor Benfield, Roma Benfield, Erin Benfield, Harper Shaw and Rowan Shaw; and his sisters, Janice Vance and Joyce Gortney (David). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
