Peggy Ann Vandegriff touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Calhoun and Sarah Louella Dyson Vandegriff; and her husband Frank Morton Smith. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Plumb of Great Falls, Montana, Nina Wolfe (Bobby) of Tryon, NC, Penny Menning (Brian) of Hamilton, Montana, Amy Walker (Tom) of Maple Hill, Kansas, Robbie Smith (Pattie) of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Mark Smith of Newland, NC, Steve Smith (Angela) of Lenoir, NC and Tim Smith (Pam) of Banner Elk, NC; and her brother John C. Vandegriff. She is also survived by 34 Grandchildren, 96 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2085 NC-105, Linville, NC 28646). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at the Woodlawn Cemetery (6578 James E Holshouser Jr Hwy, Blowing Rock, NC 28605).
