She was predeceased by: her parents, John Calhoun and Sarah Louella Dyson Vandegriff; and her husband Frank Morton Smith. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Plumb of Great Falls, Montana, Nina Wolfe (Bobby) of Tryon, NC, Penny Menning (Brian) of Hamilton, Montana, Amy Walker (Tom) of Maple Hill, Kansas, Robbie Smith (Pattie) of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Mark Smith of Newland, NC, Steve Smith (Angela) of Lenoir, NC and Tim Smith (Pam) of Banner Elk, NC; and her brother John C. Vandegriff. She is also survived by 34 Grandchildren, 96 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
