She was predeceased by: her parents, Jefferson Stack and Martha Stack; and her spouse Rev. J. B. Starnes Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Martha "Janie" Wilson (Donald) of Pikeville, Teresa Gail Starnes Pender (Raymond) of Newport, Jerry Baxter Starnes Jr. (Cindy) of Newport and Ronald Stephen Starnes (Bernadette) of Newport; and her brother Jeff Stack of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
