He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Taylor Jarman and Roland Adair Small; his brother Carlton Small; and his stepfather Paul Jarman, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Tressa Nelson Small; his daughter Tanya Sewell (Thomas) of Morehead City; his stepchildren, Ginny Simons (Reggie) of Georgia and Zachary Williamson (Esthela) of California; his brother Donald Small (Linda) of Harlowe; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Small Leinthall of Havelock and Beverly Sasser of New Bern; his grandchildren, Tracy Sewell and Tiffany Sewell of Morehead City; his stepgrandchildren, Chelsey Kitchens of Georgia, Bethany Simons of Georgia, Hunter Simons of Georgia, Railey Simons of Georgia and Angel Gaston-Segura of California; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cooper Smith of Georgia, Cason Smith of Georgia and Kynlee Kitchens of Georgia; his sibling's children, LaDonna Mangum of Wilson, Belinda Daniel, Carla Campbell of Harlowe, Chris Small, Jeffrey Small of Harlowe and Tony Small of California; and his aunt Hazel Ives of Atlantic Beach. He is also survived by five great nephews and eight great nieces.
