He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Yates and Jane Yates. He is survived by: his son Harold "Ed" Yates (Heather) of Carteret County, NC; his brother Robert "Bob" Yates (Sybil) of Arapahoe, NC; his grandchildren, Cole Yates (Carson), Lilian Work (Gage), Taylor Yates (CJ) and Savannah Yates; his great grandchildren, Fallon Yates, Ashton Work, Grant Work and Vivian Work; his sibling's children, Dee Y. Lupton and Sean Yates; and his close friends, Tracy and JB Baxter.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Munden Funeral Home & Crematory (2112 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
