It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Gertrude Riggs (Newport, North Carolina), who passed away on May 11, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Randolph Thomas Riggs; and her parents, John Dunn and Gertrude Dunn. She is survived by : her children, Barbara Ann Wigger (John) of Charleston, SC and Glenwood Thomas Riggs of Newport; her grandchildren, Patrick "PJ" Gorman, Jr. (Claudia), Randy Gorman and Felicia Slaughter (Eric); her great grandchildren, Tyler Alan Slaughter, Patrick Gorman, Kali Stannard, Jenna Witkop, Cameron Gorman, Christopher Gorman, Logan Gorman, Ashton Gorman, Nicholas Gorman and Brantley Gorman; and her great great grandchild Carter Witkop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church, 182 Holly Springs Rd., Newport, NC 28570.
