Eleanor Grimes Corbett Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Grimes Corbett of Newport, North Carolina, born in Seven Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on January 18, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edison Grimes and Anna Belle Grimes; her husband John Leamon Corbett; her sister Jeanette Sanderson; and her grandson Justin Corbett.
She is survived by: her sons, John L. Corbett Jr. (Lynn) of Newport, Roger Corbett (Angie) of Newport and Patrick E. Corbett (Lori) of Newport; and her siblings, Ellen Long of New Bern, John David Grimes of New Bern and Jimmy Grimes of New Bern. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions, in memory of Ms. Corbett, may be made to the American Cancer Society at 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville NC 27834.
