It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Leroy Burris of Newport, North Carolina, born in Fowler, Indiana, who passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Jacob Burris; his son Terry Burris; and his grandson Michael Burris. He is survived by: his close friend Faye "Charlene" Burris; his granddaughter Ruby Burris-Bryant; and his niece Lynette Kidd (Reece). He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
