Gillie Conway Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gillie Conway (Newport, North Carolina), who passed away on May 25, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roscoe M. Conway; her parents, Lattie Mae Smith Barefoot and Jethro D. Barefoot; her stepparents, Ellen Barefoot and Martin Thomas Lewis Sr.; her sister Jean Freeman; her granddaughter Christina D. Kent; and her great great grandchild Benjamin Conway.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Bibbens of Beaufort, Rosa C. Smallwood (Nelson "Hound), Virginia G. Domina (Leonard Sr.) of Sparta, MI, Angela C. Hunter (Jeffery A.) of Joliet, IL, Roscoe D. Conway Sr. (Polly) of Abbeville, LA, Oran R. Conway of Newport, Robert E. Conway (Pat) of Linesville, PA and Larry R. Conway Sr. of Abbeville, LA; her brother Martin T. Lewis Jr. of Spring Lake, NC; her stepsister Glenda Langley of Dunn; and her close friend Teddy Barnes of Beaufort. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
