With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Southerland of Newport, North Carolina, who passed away on June 17, 2020 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband James Southerland. She is survived by : her children, Lisa Walden (Rick) of Iowa, Nancy Southerland (Robert Caldwell) of Mississippi and John Southerland of Pennsylvania; her sister Nancy Cranford of Texas; her grandchildren, Jesse, Anna, Jamie, Tara, Hannah, Sulukwe and Khalil Tesseneer; and her close friend Jack Hines of Newport. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
