He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ronald Sutton and Bennie Bell Sutton. He is survived by: his pet Bridgid; his wife Sue B. Sutton; his children, Nicole Gaunt (Jonathan) of England, James Earl Sutton, Jr. (Angie) of Ayden, NC and Rocky Leonard Lawing (Christina) of Kannapolis, NC; his sister Shirley Jerome of New Bern; his grandchildren, Amy Howard, Cody Sutton, Ryan Lawing, Alexis Lawing, Breanna Lawing and Kristian Gaunt; and his sibling's children, Angela Watkins of Ginger Denisov and Steven Jerome. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
