He was predeceased by: his father Martin Turner Brittingham Sr.; his former wife Alice Brittingham; his wife Ruth Brittingham; and his siblings, Marilyn Kay Murdoch and Francis "Frankie" Brittingham.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, Sherry Tant (Bobby) of Newport and Tim Murdoch (Karen) of New Bern; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephanie Murdoch of New Bern, Ashleigh Rice of Wildwood, Micah Rice of Wilmington and Tyler Murdoch of Wildwood; his stepson William "Bill" R. Epp Jr. (Kate); his stepgrandsons, William of Massachusetts and Daniel of Massachusetts; and his brother-in-law William C. Murdoch of Wildwood.

In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
