It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Myrtle Long Howland of Newport, North Carolina, born in Morehead City, North Carolina, who passed away on December 22, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Long and Alice Long; her husband William H. Howland Sr.; her siblings, Jack, Jessie, James, Stanford, Vernon and Beatrice; and her pets, Max and Bullet.
She is survived by: her children, Catherine Strozeski (Joe) of Chesapeake and William "Bill" Howland, Jr. of Morehead City; her grandchildren, Josh Willis, Cheyenne and Lacey Strozeski; and her sister Dorothy Mitchell.
