She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Otis Culpepper and Mary Culpepper; her husband Edward Earl Sides; her daughters, Susan Sides of Newport, NC and Frankie Sides (Joel Hales) of Havelock, NC; her siblings, Cathrine Chadwick (T. C.) of Mill Creek, NC, Marie Nobling (Larry) of Mill Creek, NC, Theresa Brister (Al) of Newport, NC and Otis Culpepper (Kathy) of Mill Creek, NC; and her grandchildren, Victoria and Edward. She was also cherished by grandmother to her family.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Community Baptist Church (7648 US-70, Newport, NC 28570).
