He was predeceased by: his parents, Ennis Bell and Ouida Bell; and his brothers, Dan and Spencer. He is survived by: his siblings, Teresa Winchell (Dean) of Newport, Linda Foster of Newport, Reggie Payne (Stephanie) of Colorado, Joe Stanfield (Janie) of Hubert and David Bell; and his daughter Christie Thompson.
