She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel "Sammy" Lee Hughes, Jr.; and her parents, Henry Scott and Myrtle Scott. She is survived by: her daughter Tami Johnson of Ayden, NC; her mother-in-law Mary Hughes; her sister-in-law Carol Hughes Thomas; and her niece R. E. Bowden.
