It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vira Lee Watson of Newport, North Carolina, who passed away on October 13, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Guion Murdoch and Lillian Gladys Teasley; and her husband William Finley Watson. She is survived by: her brother Andrew Wiley Murdoch; her sons, Dean Dickinson (Patsy) of Havelock and Don Dickinson (Lu) of Cary; her stepdaughter Kathy Stephens Hand (Hank) of Newport; her brother James Guion Jr. (Veda); her children, Tommy Dickinson (Jalna) and Sue Dickinson Bell (Alvin); Helen LaCroix of Havelock. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wildwood Presbyterian Church, 276 Wildwood Road, Newport, NC, 28570. Designate on the check memo line the donation is for the Food Pantry or the Wildwood Community Cemetery fund.
