He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Lisa Millis Wiedner (Danny) of Newport, William "Billy" A. Millis, Jr. and Danny Ray Millis (Johanna) of Newport; his sister Mamie Riddle of Franklin, VA; his grandchildren, Christian A. Wiedner (Taylor) of Newport, Justin D. Wiedner (Ashlee) of Newport, Landon Millis of Newport, Greyson Millis of Pelletier and Shelby Millis of Greenville; his great grandchildren, Corbin Thomas Wiedner and Kynlee Lane Davis; his parents, William "Willie" Millis and Lillian "Lillie" Millis; and his siblings, Carroll, Glenn, Roland, Lucille and James.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Duke Health in support of diabetes research.
