In loving memory of Charles Allan Kanipe of Newton, North Carolina, who departed this world on April 24, 2024 at the age of 86. Charles Allan leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, W. E. Kanipe and Grace Mozeley Kanipe; his wife Helen Bumgarner Kanipe; his brothers, James Terrell Kanipe, Worth Azell Kanipe and Lee Mozeley Kanipe; and his children, Charles A. Kanipe II (Angela) and Dana Hoyle (Robert).

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Maggie Kanipe (Kyle), Carson Kanipe (Jenna), Eli Kanipe, Rachel Hoyle, Gracen Hoyle, Charlie Hoyle and Sadie Hoyle; his great grandchild Beckett West; and his sister Lennie Sever (Tom).

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hickory Funeral Home (1031 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church (2120 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28602).

He was instrumental in developing the video tape ministry for homebound church members, and was honored by the congregation of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church in 2001 with "Charles Kanipe Day" for his dedication, leadership, and donation of time and expertise, particularly for spearheading and executing the renovation and expansion of the church sanctuary and gathering room.
