It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Dexter Ervin of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Farris Franklin and Lessie Howard Ervin; and his siblings, Raymond Ervin, Ethel Poteet, Eurley Anders, Marie Ridenhour, Bobbie Ridenhour and Shirley Mundy.
He is survived by : his children, Lisa Cloer (Tim), Jason Ervin (Penny), Matthew Ervin (Jennifer), Heather Callahan (Rob) and Christina Williams (Matt); his grandchildren, Lukas, Slade Young, Thomas-Ross, Maegan Cloer (Nick Wilkinson), Jon Barrows (Kaia), Caroline, Zeb Ervin, Alex, Austin, Alaina Ervin, Nate, Aidan, Maggie Callahan, Paige and Ellen Williams; his great grandchildren, Jackson Wilkinson, Ezra and Ellie Barrows; and his siblings, Farris Ervin (Joyce), Evelyn Ramey, Carolyn Souther (Vernon), Darlene Taylor and Marcia Radford (Bill). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, along with a few very close friends.
