Virgie Shifflett Hensby Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgie Shifflett Hensby of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Vernon Shifflett and Myrtie Annadoah Michael Shifflett; and her siblings, Vernon Shifflett, Raymond Shifflett, Claude Shifflett, Thomas Shifflett, Louise Morris, Ethel Morris, Virginia Acosta, Julia Beahm, Peggy May, Edith Shifflett and Margie Clark.
She is survived by: her husband Peter Hensby; her daughters, Michele Holler (Bruce) of Newton, NC and Debra Winters of Stuarts Draft, VA.; her siblings, Charles Shifflett (Nancy) of Port Republic, VA., Lois Knott of Mt. Crawford, VA, Betty Moyers of McGaheysville, VA and Evelyn Herring of Penn Laird, VA.; her grandchildren, Rhonda Martell, Michael Winters, William Holler, Laura Owens, Bryant Miller and Dr. Danielle Miller; and her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Bosland, Addison Martell, Donovan Martell, Logan Martell, Makena Owens, Emmerson Holler, Jacqueline Holler, Beckham Miller and Bentley Miller.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Bennett Funeral Service (7878 NC-16, Newton, NC 28658). A celebration of life was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
