He was predeceased by : his father James Warner Roten; his sons, Jeffrey Roten and Matt Baker; and his sisters, Genieva Porter and Nancy Roten.

He is survived by : his wife Tina Hawkins Roten; his friend Joyce Holt; and his children, Shaye Harrold of McGrady, Chasity Blackburn, Michael Roten of Roaring River, Justin Baker (Donna) of Mulberry and Benny Roten of Delaware.
