He was predeceased by : his parents, Edith Sharpe and Larry Cicero Brookshire; his wife Lucille Alice Woodruff Brookshire; and his siblings, Sydney Clayton Brookshire, Jack Dempsey Brookshire, William Alley Brookshire, Peggy Juanita Quick and Lorene Billings.

He is survived by : his children, Carolyn Brookshire Pardue (Frank Pardue) and Atwell Jerome Brookshire (Karen Brookshire); and his sister Brenda Rae Brooks.

Donations may be made to the Wilkes Community College Foundation at P.O. Box 120, Wilkesboro, N. C. 28697.
