He was predeceased by : his parents, James Warren and Anna Walsh Earp; and his brothers, Kenneth Edward Earp and Douglas Walsh Earp. He is survived by : his children, Holly Jeanette Earp of Wilkesboro and James Ronald Earp of Moravian Falls; his grandchildren, Amber Nicole Sloan, Adam Ryan Lewis and David James Earp (DJ); his great grandchildren, Candice Taylor, Payton Taylor and Theo Taylor; his siblings, Jane Earp Nichols (Jimmy Dean) of North Wilkesboro, Claude Dixon Earp (Judy) of Illinois and Randy Gray Earp, Sr. of North Wilkesboro; and his sister-in-law Sue Earp of Wilkesboro. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
