With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joe Harold Byrd of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on June 24, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, William Byrd and Hallie Settle Byrd; his wife Opal Nickelson Byrd; his brothers, Jack Jones Byrd and James William Byrd; his stepfather David Wooten; and his great grandchildren, Mason Camden Roten and Remi Nicole Roten.

He is survived by : his daughters, JoAnn Byrd Norman (Douglas) of North Wilkesboro and Teresa Byrd Roten (Stewart) of Elkin; his grandsons, Stewart Andrew Roten (Heather) of Elkin, Nathaniel Paul Roten of Elkin and Alexander Byrd Roten (Marena) of State Road; his great grandchild Stewart Bentley Roten of Elkin; and his sister Brenda Billings (Steve) of Traphill.
