She was predeceased by : her parents, James Mack Knight Ballard and Pauline Caudill Ballard; her sisters, Phyllis Sue Foster, Nancy Mae Bumgarner and Carrie Lou Wilcox; and her great grandchild Joselyn Guadalupe Rodriguez.
She is survived by : her husband Bobby Dean Spears; her children, Angela Spears Ramos of North Wilkesboro, Jackie Dean Spears and James Nathan Spears of Traphill; her brother James Robert Ballard; her grandchildren, Elisa Rodriguez-Valles (Jose Luis Rodriguez), Cody Aaron Penaloza of McGrady, Holly Gonzalez (Duane Smith) of Hamptonville and Joseph Spears of Millers Creek; and her great grandchildren, Joel Rodriguez of North Wilkesboro, Rowan Rodriguez of North Wilkesboro and Noelle Smith of Hamptonville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
