He was predeceased by: his parents, Pines Blalock and Hattie Blalock; his children, Timothy Melvin Blalock and Wanda Renee Blalock; his son-in-law Danny Almond; and his siblings, Oliver "Craig" Blalock, Hallie Mae Gibson and Hilda Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Lentz Blalock; his children, Cindy Blalock Almond of Albemarle, Gloria Blalock Freeman (Dennis) of Norwood and Rodney Blalock (Linda) of Locust; his grandchildren, Amber Reynolds (Paul), Dustin Almond, Derrick Almond Jeremy Blalock (Danielle), Katie Freeman and Savannah Blalock; his great grandchildren, Nick, Nathan, Allyson, Daniel, Lane, Cohen and Ella; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Blalock and Toby Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
