It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Ruth Douthat of Oak Island, North Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Francis Dawson and Pearl Dawson; her husband Marvin "Skeeter" Douthat; her sons, Michael Clay Douthat and Donald Ray Douthat; and her brothers, Howard Kenneth Dawson and Carl Dawson.
She is survived by : her sons, Richard Lee Douthat, Sr. (Laura) of Lexington, KY and Stephen Dale Douthat of Highland Springs, VA; and her grandchildren, Richard Lee Douthat, Jr., Clay Wells Douthat, Natalee Clark (Brandon) and Callie Douthat. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Memorial Fund at the Southport Presbyterian Church.
