Virginia left this world on October 14, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert "Bart" Walker and Hettie Burgin Walker; her husbands, Vincent Cable and William Tankersley; her children, Frankie Tankersley, Kenny Tankersley and Connie Arrowood; and her grandchildren, Rachel Tankersley and Travis Tankersley.
She is survived by: her sister Dorothy Roberts; her sister-in-law Barbara Walker; and her sibling's children, Vinita Turner (Larry), Joyce Parrish (Leon) and Stephen Tankersley (Katrina). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory (502 Miller St Ext, Statesboro, GA 30458). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Cherry Springs Baptist Church (6 Bull Walker Rd, Old Fort, NC 28762).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Safe Shelter of Savannah, Georgia, in honor of her granddaughter Rachel Tankersley, or to Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church, Old Fort, North Carolina.
