She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Miller and Julie Miller; her husband Sherwood Lee Harris, Sr.; her son Sherwood "Woody" Harris, Jr.; and her grandson Alexander Deaton.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Harris, Sheryl Harris Sanders (Don) and Karen Harris Deaton (John); and her grandchildren, Julie McCulley (Jim), Tonya Taylor, Don Sanders Jr. (Tracy), Jason Christopher Sanders, Brian Eric Sanders, Matthew Deaton (Jolina), Stephen Deaton and Hayley Deaton. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, PO Box 6, Bayboro, NC 28515.
