She was predeceased by : her brother Wright Astley Burnham; her niece Cynthia Burnham Hogan; her cousin Brian Burnham; and her brother-in-law Leslie B. Evans. She is survived by : her daughter Meta Jones (Henry A. Jones); her stepson David S. Evans Jr.; her grandchildren, Emilie Jones Harris and Gerald William Jones; her great grandchild Katelyn Aubrey Harris; her nieces, Susan Burnham and Kim Burnham; her great-nephew Nathan Hogan; her great-niece Cynthia Hogan; and her sister-in-law Anne Evans.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to National Public Radio; N.C. Wildlife Federation; Coastal Federation; Possumwood Acre Wildlife Sanctuary; Sound Rivers or Lou Mac Park c/o Town of Oriental.
