He was predeceased by: his parents, Benton Daniel and Bernice Dickerson. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Keeton Daniel; his daughters, Tracy Atwater (Charlie) of Durham and Bobbie Lynn Watkins (Chuck) of Creedmoor; his grandchildren, Payton, Cooper Watkins, Sydney and Snipes Atwater; and his brother Warren Daniel (Brenda Dickerson-Daniel) of Oxford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
