As Frederick Owen departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Frederick Owen. Though Frederick Owen may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his parents, Cora Lee Terry Smith and Franklin Taylor Smith; his wife Rhada Williams Smith; his children, Frederick D. Smith (Brianna) of North Carolina, Amon R. Smith of Henderson, Jordan T. Smith of Raleigh and Darha M. Ponder of Kings Mountain; and his sisters, Audrey Harris (Willie) of Oxford and Denna McRae (Curtis) of Oxford. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home Chapel (3724 Salem Rd, Oxford, NC 27565). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
